Professional Development Events for Junior Investigators

1. Careers, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Australia- Q & A session.

This is a Q and A panel event on career development, innovations and entrepreneurship in Australia. The panel members are from stem cell industries, academics who are working with stem cell industries, and academics who have branched out and started their own stem cell companies. Junior investigators can ask questions related to their career development, developing technologies, innovations and how to market them. Dinner will be served during the Q and A session followed by drinks with lawn bowling and networking. Transport will be provided.

When: November 8, 2015.

Time: 7PM-10PM.

Where: East Cessnock Bowling Club (pick-up/drop-off at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley)

2. “Challenges for Junior Investigators’ World: Minimizing Setbacks and Maximizing Professional Development”.

This is an open forum discussion. Junior investigators can ask some difficult questions about funding, alternative strategies in career and collaborations, etc.. The panel members will be successful Head of Stem Cell Programs (Mentors), Early-Career Researchers and Mid-Career Researchers.

When: November 10, 2015.

Time: 1PM-2PM.

Where: Crown Plaza, Hunter Valley.

Cost: free.
